Joshua Osih 2025Following the October 12, 2025 presidential election, Social Democratic Front (SDF) candidate Joshua Osih delivered a message marked by humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of national responsibility.

He began by expressing his appreciation to supporters:

I wish to express my profound gratitude to all those who, over the past three years, have worked tirelessly to shape and carry forward an alternative vision for our beloved nation. Your dedication, energy, and belief in a better Cameroon have been a source of strength and inspiration throughout this journey.

Acknowledging the outcome of the vote, Osih stated:

Even though the results have not been favourable to my candidacy, the people have spoken, and the verdict of the ballot box is clear. We accept this outcome in full respect of the sovereign will of the Cameroonian people and of the Republic.

He reaffirmed the relevance of his political program, especially the complete digitalization of Cameroon’s public administration, emphasizing that it would guarantee faster, more transparent elections in the future:

Our project had proposed, among other priorities, the complete digitalization of Cameroon’s public administration, to ensure that no future election would ever again require weeks before results are known. That vision remains relevant — for transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the service of our citizens.

Regarding the irregularities noted during the process, the SDF candidate confirmed that these would be brought before the Constitutional Council, adding:

However, if any legal challenge were to undermine the clearly expressed will of the Cameroonian people, we will refrain from pursuing it — because the stability of our nation and the preservation of peace must always come first.

Pending the proclamation of the final results, Osih expressed his confidence that the Constitutional Council would act “faithfully and without bias.” He also pledged to personally call the winner “to congratulate him and wish him success in his mission.”

He concluded with a heartfelt message to his compatriots:

My greatest wish is that this victory be placed at the service of the ordinary Cameroonian — the men and women who simply aspire to live with dignity, to work, to prosper, and to once again believe in their country. Because beyond parties and candidates, it is Cameroon that must emerge victorious from this election.

Long Live our Democracy. Long Live Cameroon.

Joshua Osih sur la tombe de Rubem Um NyobéEseka, September 13, 2025 – At the dawn of the commemoration of the 67th anniversary of the assassination of Ruben Um Nyobé, a historic figure in the struggle for Cameroon’s independence and reunification, the President of the SDF (Social Democratic Front) and candidate in the October 12, 2025 presidential election, Joshua Osih, quietly visited the grave of the National Hero in Eseka, Centre Region.

Alone, away from cameras and official ceremony, Mr. Osih chose to pay his respects in silence and serenity at the resting place of the nationalist leader, executed on September 13, 1958 in the forests of Boumnyebel by the French army. This highly symbolic gesture took place only a few hours before he was scheduled to chair a meeting of his party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) in Yaoundé.

“This powerful gesture, imbued with respect and remembrance, resonates as a bridge between two generations of struggle: that of Ruben Um Nyobé, pioneer of independence, cut down for having dreamed of a free, just, and sovereign Cameroon, and that of Joshua Osih, bearer of an assumed political rupture, committed to a Cameroon reconciled with its ideals, its people, and its institutions,” explained Gabriel Ngomsi, SDF Electoral District President (PCE) of Dibombari.

In Obala on 23 May 2025, what was supposed to be a high point of democratic celebration turned into yet another episode of abuse of authority. The public meeting scheduled for Friday in Obala to mark the 35th anniversary of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) was arbitrarily banned by the town's sous-préfet and mayor. The event was to have been chaired by the Honourable Joshua Osih, National Chairman of the party.

Joshua OsihIn a Cameroon plagued by widespread and multi-faceted corruption, decaying morals, personal ambitions, inflated egos, partisan squabbles and a fragmented opposition, one voice stands out. A voice that is discreet, calm, poised and determined. That of Joshua Osih, President of the Social Democratic Front (SDF).

At a time when Cameroon's political horizon seems saturated by sterile debates and by individuals and leaders more concerned with their own ambitions and image than with the general interest, Joshua Osih recently made a rare statement, almost revolutionary in our context:

“If for any reason my candidacy were to be rejected, I would not hold the Republic hostage around my person. I would convene a NEC the following day to organize an extraordinary congress to appoint a new candidate to represent the party. The Republic does not end with me.”

Political repression in CameroonObala, May 23, 2025 — What was meant to be a significant moment of democratic celebration has turned into yet another episode of abuse of power. The public meeting scheduled for this Friday in Obala, marking the 35th anniversary of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), was arbitrarily banned by the sub-prefect and the town’s mayor. The event was to be presided over by the party’s national president, Honorable Joshua Osih.

In a statement released today, the Regional Secretary of the SDF for the Centre region, Tangeh George Werengong, expressed outrage at this decision, which he calls a blatant refusal by the authorities to respect fundamental freedoms.
