Honorable FUSI Wilfred NAAMUKONG, former SDF Member of the Cameroonian Parliament for the Bafut Tubah constituency (North West Region), has been kidnapped this evening in Bamenda by unidentified armed individuals. It was during during the burial ceremony of his wife in Bamenda.
The terrible news was announced this evening by Jean Robert WAFO, Minister of the SDF shadow cabinet in charge of information and media.
The Cameroonian authorities have so far given no news, while the kidnappers have not yet made any demands for his release.
The Honorable Fusi has been a strong advocate for the Anglophone cause since the outbreak of the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon. But despite this, he has been regularly targeted by armed Ambazonian separatists. For example on January 5, 2020 his home had been burned down by ambazonia separatists because the SDF had decided to participate in the February 2020 legislative and municipal elections.
