Following the October 12, 2025 presidential election, Social Democratic Front (SDF) candidate Joshua Osih delivered a message marked by humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of national responsibility.
He began by expressing his appreciation to supporters:
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to all those who, over the past three years, have worked tirelessly to shape and carry forward an alternative vision for our beloved nation. Your dedication, energy, and belief in a better Cameroon have been a source of strength and inspiration throughout this journey.”
Acknowledging the outcome of the vote, Osih stated:
“Even though the results have not been favourable to my candidacy, the people have spoken, and the verdict of the ballot box is clear. We accept this outcome in full respect of the sovereign will of the Cameroonian people and of the Republic.”
He reaffirmed the relevance of his political program, especially the complete digitalization of Cameroon’s public administration, emphasizing that it would guarantee faster, more transparent elections in the future:
“Our project had proposed, among other priorities, the complete digitalization of Cameroon’s public administration, to ensure that no future election would ever again require weeks before results are known. That vision remains relevant — for transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the service of our citizens.”
Regarding the irregularities noted during the process, the SDF candidate confirmed that these would be brought before the Constitutional Council, adding:
“However, if any legal challenge were to undermine the clearly expressed will of the Cameroonian people, we will refrain from pursuing it — because the stability of our nation and the preservation of peace must always come first.”
Pending the proclamation of the final results, Osih expressed his confidence that the Constitutional Council would act “faithfully and without bias.” He also pledged to personally call the winner “to congratulate him and wish him success in his mission.”
He concluded with a heartfelt message to his compatriots:
“My greatest wish is that this victory be placed at the service of the ordinary Cameroonian — the men and women who simply aspire to live with dignity, to work, to prosper, and to once again believe in their country. Because beyond parties and candidates, it is Cameroon that must emerge victorious from this election.”
